Blood Donation Camp

A Blood Donation Camp was successfully organized at Carmelite Social Services under the guidance of Father Thomas P. Doctors from Bhai Ghanayia Ji Charitable Blood Bank & Hospital graciously provided their services. The camp was attended by Sister Anupriya, Sister Sheena, and other members of the institution, making the initiative a meaningful step towards humanitarian service.

Inauguration of Nandachaur Stitching Center

Carmelite Social Services has taken a significant step towards women’s empowerment by inaugurating a new tailoring center in Nandachaur village. The center aims to provide skill-based training to local women, helping them become self-reliant. During the program, Father Thomas P. highlighted that the center will not only create employment opportunities for women but also contribute to the village’s economic development. Village Sarpanch Asha Rani appreciated the initiative, while Panch Avtar Singh, Baljeet Kaur, Sister Anupriya, Sister Sheena, and other members of the organization were also present.

Closing Ceremony of Ram Nagar Stitching Center

Carmelite Social Services, under the guidance of Director Father Thomas P. awarded certificates to young women who successfully completed the tailoring course at their center in Ram Nagar (slum area), Hoshiarpur. The program began with a prayer, followed by cultural performances by the participants. Hoshiarpur Mayor Surinder Kumar, along with Father Thomas P, appreciated the initiative and encouraged the young women for a bright future. Sister Anupriya and other members of the organization were also present to celebrate the achievements.

Eye Check-Up Camp by Carmelite Social Services

Under the guidance of Father Thomas P. Carmelite Social Services organized a free Eye Check-Up Camp. Civil Surgeon Dr. Parminder, Dr. Neha, Dr. Kamlesh, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, and Dr. Tarsem Lal actively participated in the camp. Sister Anupriya, along with other members of the organization, was also present and contributed to the event. The doctors not only conducted eye examinations but also provided the necessary medications to the patients.

Former village Sarpanch Amarjeet Kaur joined as the special guest, while the event began with a prayer followed by cultural performances. Father Thomas P encouraged the girls for a bright future, and Amarjeet Kaur appreciated the organization’s charitable efforts. Ram Gopal, Sister Sheena, Sister Anupriya, Sister Josina, Sister Nutan, and other members of the organization were also present.

The program, inaugurated with a prayer, featured cultural performances by the participants. Village Panch Rajveer Kaur, along with Father Thomas P, appreciated the initiative and encouraged the young women for a bright future. Other members of the organization, including Savran Singh, Sister Anupriya, Sister Josina, and Sister Nutan, were also present to celebrate the achievements."

Children’s Day 2025

Under the guidance of Father Thomas P. Carmelite Social Services, Kakko, celebrated Children’s Day with colorful performances by children from various centers. The event aimed to promote education and overall development, with special awards given to academic achievers. Chief Guest Father Albert G. encouraged the children with inspiring words. Sister Sheena, Sister Anupriya, and the dedicated staff played a key role in making the event joyful and memorable.

Empowering our community

In the face of devastating floods that swept through the villages of Ramdass and Ajnala. The spirit of selfless service shone brightly through a collaborative effort led by Carmelite Social Services, in partnership with St. Joseph convent school and Mount Carmel Schools. This initiative was a testament to the power of community, bringing together staff and volunteers to provide crucial support to those affected by the natural disaster. Our teams mobilized swiftly to the most affected areas, where the destruction was widespread and urgent help was needed. With homes submerged and livelihood lost, our primary goal was to provide immediate relief. We distributed essential survival kits that included non-perishable food items, clean drinking water, and blankets to help families cope with displacement. Recognizing the health risks posed by floodwaters, mobile medical unit was also deployed to offer first aid and treat waterborne illness, ensuring the well-being of the affected residents. Fr. Plantation Drive

Carmelite Social Services, in its continuous commitment to environmental sustainability and social awareness, successfully organized a plantation drive in collaboration with Delhi International School, St. Soldier School, Una Road, Government High School, Nangal Shahida and Government senior secondary smart school, Ajjowal. The green initiative aimed to instill ecological values in students, encouraging them to care for nature and actively contribute to a healthier planet. Around 15 plants were planted in each school. The principal of all four schools appreciated the initiative and encouraged regular green efforts. Fr. Thomas, Director Carmelite Social Services shared that planting trees is not just about greenery, it is about giving life to our planet. We are proud to work with these schools in nurturing the future generation with love for nature.

Independence Day Celebration

Carmelite Social Services celebrated the 79th Independence day of India with great joy and patriotic spirit. The program began with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the singing of the national anthem, filling the atmosphere with pride and unity. To mark the occasion, Various competitions were organized for children, encouraging them to showcase their talents and love for their nation through fancy dress competitions and speech competitions. The celebration continued with a speech by Fr. Thomas, patriotic songs and distribution of sweets. Carmelite Social Services continues to inspire the younger generation through such meaningful programs helping them to grow as responsible and patriotic citizens.

Inaugurated 4th, 5th and 6th sewing skill centre

On 1st June and 5th June, Carmelite Social Services (CSS) inaugurated its 4th, 5th and 6th sewing skill Centre across Pandori Rajputa, Barial and Nandachaur. This initiative aims to empower marginalized women by equipping them with stitching and tailoring skills, paving the way towards financial independence. The first training batch includes 20 to 25 women in each Centre from disadvantaged and skill building. These centers offer free tailoring, reflecting CSS’s commitment to enhancing skills, fostering self- reliance, and uplifting underprivileged women.

Inaugurates Sewing and Beautician Course in Central Jail, HSP

On, 2nd June, 2025 Carmelite Social Services has launched a pioneering training initiative inside the central jail, offering a combined stitching and beautician course aimed at rehabilitating women inmates. This initiative strives to empower women by providing vocational skills in tailoring and beautician services, paving the way for post-release financial independence. CSS is committed to nurturing self-reliance through comprehensive skill- building programs – offered free of cost to participants. The inaugural batch comprises 20 women inmates from various backgrounds. The curriculum covers stitching and tailoring skills for garment creation whereas beautician training, includes basic grooming services.

Swachhata Abhiyan

On 5th May 2025, Under the 'Swachhata Abhiyan, a cleanliness drive was conducted in village Khanaura by Carmelite Social Services under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Thomas P with the help of Sarpanch (Parminder Singh). On this occasion the village ground and surrounding areas were cleaned. Sr.Shalin Jose, Sr.Ekta and staff members were present on the occasion.

Say No to Drugs

On 3rd April 2025, Under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Thomas Puthenpurackal Carmelite Social Services took an initiative to perform Street Play at Various places of Hoshiarpur city (Labour Shed, Clock tower, Bus stand, City Centre and Shaheed Bhagat Singh chownk). Punjab Police extended their whole hearted support and help.
